Google: Is There a Way to Find Your "Unknown Search Terms"

I believe Google stopped reporting search terms for privacy reasons. All my searches show as "unknown". I found a video that showed how to get around this but it's not current. Is there any way to get your Google terms search information?

As far as I know there is no way of uncovering the Google 'not provided' keywords, and I don't think there's any point in kicking against it either because there are several ways that you can get information. Mostly I think Google tries to hide any terms it thinks may release confidential information or very specific low-volume terms, in which case these probably wouldn't be much use anyway.
With enough traffic you can still get an awful lot of information from Google Analytics, it still releases about 10% of the keywords.
Secondly, Look at Google Search Console > Search Traffic > Search Analytics.
The strategy that I like best is to work the opposite way on, decide on the keywords that you want to go after and then optimise the site for those keywords.

Do you have a backwards ranker tool? If you know what you are ranking for - that might help narrow things down. Rank Recon has a tool that finds where a domain ranks in the top 20 results for specific keywords. Its not infallible but it is helpful.

A Solution to Keywords Being Grouped in Google Keyword Planner
Hi guys, I am trying to get search traffic for a list of keywords which I put together a few years ago for one of my clients, this was before Google made changes to their Keyword Planner. When I am adding the list into Google Keyword Planner it is "grouping" a number of the keywords/phrases together, and therefore removing 13 of the keywords from the original list of 59 keywords. Is there a way around this so I can get search volume for the original list, and not the cut down one? I am specifically using Google Keyword Planner as I want to get search volume for a number of specific locations in the UK. Any comments/feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Jack. Ignore keywords that have no data in the Google Keyword Tool?
Hello, There are some keywords that have no monthly search data in the Google Keyword Tool. In many cases, this is because there have been very few searches for the keyword. Would you recommend focusing on other keywords that do have search data in the Google Keyword Tool? Perhaps focusing too far out on the long tail of search results can be less productive than focusing on keywords that have proven that at least some people care about them. What do you think? Thanks!

Search Volume vs. CTR
Is it better to optimize based on search volume or click through rate? For example: If a keyword has a CTR of 19% and only 3,000 monthly searches, while another keyword that is relevant to that page has a CTR of 0.7% and 20,000 monthly searches, which keyword should that page be optimized for for better natural results and the bottom line?

Is "in" a keyword differentiator?
Does google view phrases with "in" in then as different keywords than the same phrase without an "in"? For example: is "great restaurants in chicago" the same keyword as "great restaurants chicago"? Whenever I do research on two phrases like this, they always come up with the same search volume.
